How much does printed corporate clothing cost?

The two elements from which everything stems

The first category is clothing. The brand, quality of the material and features determine the price range: T-shirts and polo shirts start at around CHF 13.50 to 16, depending on the model and brand, whilst work trousers start at CHF 21.00. There is plenty of room at the top end of the price range — a multi-standard protective jacket with certification costs many times that amount, as it must meet tested protective requirements.

The second cost component is the printing. This depends on the method used, the number of positions and the size of the design. A small logo on the chest is cheaper than a large-scale print on the back; two positions cost more than one.

What’s not included in our price: set-up costs for screens and films. Many suppliers charge for these separately, but we include them in the price — which makes it easier to compare quotes. The only one-off charge is for the embroidery programme, as each logo has to be digitised individually for this; once this is done, it is stored in our system.

Why there is no price per person

The most common question is: How much does a basic set of equipment cost per employee? A reliable figure can only be provided once a needs analysis has been carried out. The intended use, expected lifespan and type of finish can affect the cost significantly.

Here’s an example: three polo shirts for reception and three for the workshop are, on paper, the same role — but in reality, they require different fabric qualities, because one needs to look presentable whilst the other has to withstand heavy wear and tear. Anyone who makes sweeping generalisations here will get their calculations wrong.

One-off or with every order

Data preparation is required for the first order: logos are checked and prepared for the relevant process. This is included for up to 15 minutes; beyond that, we charge CHF 140 per hour. If embroidery is also required, a one-off charge applies for the embroidery programme.

Every order involves the production of textiles and finishing. These one-off tasks do not need to be repeated: processed data and embroidery programmes are stored, meaning repeat orders are processed more quickly and without the need for further preparation.

Why the cheapest quote is rarely the best value for money

A thinner fabric costs less to buy but needs replacing sooner. A finish that cracks after just a few washes spoils the look — and means you have to reorder. And if a collection is no longer available after a year, the reorder will no longer match the existing stock in terms of colour.

On top of that, there are hidden costs that are often overlooked in online comparisons: data processing, postage, and – for orders from abroad – customs duties and import charges. And then there’s the time you spend yourself — if you order without trying items on and then have to return a third of them, you end up paying for it in hours of your own time.

A fair comparison therefore does not take the unit price into account, but rather the costs over the entire lifetime of the product.

Consultations and quotations are, of course, free of charge, as is the fitting in the showroom. Volume discounts are tiered — the specific tiers depend on the fabric and finish and will be set out in your quotation.

In our shop, delivery is free for orders of CHF 100 or more. We deliver unprinted stock items within 5 to 7 working days, and customised items within 12 to 14 working days.
